hi rod ,i was reading a link you posted about taking a hot water zone of a steam boiler.i got 2 questions.first is where do i put the aquastat as it doesnt show it in the diagram and second is it possible to use this system on a coil for a forced air unit about 24ft above water level.thanks in advance.

That's a Question for Steamhead
Hi- I'm afraid I really can't be of much help to you as being a homeowner I don't have that much practical experience in this area. The person you want to ask is "Steamhead" as he has a lot of experience with hot water zones off steam boilers.. You might want to take a look at his past posts as he discusses hot water circuits off steam systems from time to time.
From what I've learned you may want to use a heat exchanger as while it is theoretically possible to go that high with a single loop, you are far less likely to run into problems and have a more satisfactory outcome if you use a heat exchanger.
