24V to visionPRO for constant backlight

I'm considering running yet another fresh run of wire to my t-stat so I can have the constant backlight feature. My understanding is all it wants is 24V AC which I expect I can pull from the transformer that came with my WM EG-45 boiler by replacing my two wire run with a 3 wire run. I have a spool of 18AWG X4 handy so I might just use that.
My concern is that maybe this actually needs filtered DC and I missed a detail?

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Nope
Just 24 VAC for vision pro. I have a prestige that is lit up 24 x 7 running off my air handler xformer which is rusty and humms.0
