I have a new Weil McLean steam boiler. right now i have 1 hot water zone coming off of it(copper piping). I would like to add another zone in my basement, and i would like to use pex. Is this possible and recommended? Or would the hot water be to hot for the pex being it came from the steam boiler.

Just my opinion...
but I'd much rather see you use copper. I don't believe PEX is rated for the maximum temperature (212 F) which boiler water can reach and, even if you were to use a mixing valve to hold the temperature in the loop down to what the PEX was rated for, do you really want to find out what happens with the mixing valve fails?Br. PEX
if your dead set on it you could use pex if you use a heat exchanger0
