    Definately...

worth it. In fact  I could not imagine a gravity conversion w/o it. The temp swings will be  wild w/o it. Tekmar 260 or 256. What boiler is this going on? A lot of gas mod/cons have this feature built in....

    It depends..

What type of boiler do you have? Does it maintain constant temperature or is it cold start ( burner only comes on at the same time as the circulator when the thermostat calls for heat)?

Depending on how your system is configured, adding outdoor reset may or may not be worthwhile. If your system is cold start and you notice that the radiator temperature gradually increases as the weather gets colder, you are already experiencing a sort of "natural" outdoor reset. This is a direct result of the high mass and water content of a gravity system averaging out the boiler cycles.

How is the comfort level of the system? Do you notice wide swings in temperature or does the room temperature remain fairly constant as the weather changes?

There re a lot of things you can do to improve the operation of a gravity system, but it depends on what you have now and how happy you are with the way it works presently.

    Outdoor reset:

Use this valve, the 4-way one.

Easy to install and wire. You won't believe how nice your system will be when done.
