in Gas Heating
would it be crazy to replace a he on a 15 yr. old. goodman furnace. it is under WARRANTEE but the rest of the machine is filled with 15 yr. old parts.and it has to be pulled out of crawl area and then re installed.then the responceability after you work on it. i want to give the customer prices on new furnace but they know its under warrantee. thx for any advice.

I would put in writing that you recommend replacement of the unit and if they opt to replace the HX only that your warranty only covers the installation of the HX and nothing more. That way if the burner motor quit's next week your not paying for it..0 -
Crawl?
If you have to pull it out of the crawl to do it, wouldn't be much more to go back in with a new one! Time to educate the customer on the stupidity of replacing the heat exchanger in that POS.0 -
