How do you contractors feel about shark bite fittings? Ive been doing plumbing for over 20 years and still like to solder. I see a lot of homeowners using these for repair work and I question the quality.

Use them...
However they provide no mechanical stability and will spin like a top...
Only use them when needed in emergencies or to fix something quickly.... but have had no problems with them...0 -

I only use them as a temporary for copper caps on rough ins it's easier to remove and less waste .I am sure i would never use them as a permamite fitting unless i was in a tight bind ,i also like to see a solder joint and i also rarely even use pex for water lines ,it does not add up to savingsto me when you have to add a house PRV , portable expansion tank and a safety valve and then have a drain for the safety .I 'll stick to copper peace and good luck clammyR.A.
