Two Radiators not heating

We have two radiators at the end of the steam main that are not heating.  I take the main steam vent off and even after two minutes no steam comes out.  All the other radiators in the house are hot, the boiler has enought BTU's for the load (so it is big enough), the system worked fine last year and at start up this year it doesn't work. Any ideas?

    Brave man...

to take a main steam vent off when the system is running... that stuff can burn!

That said, if it really is a main steam vent, and steam isn't coming out of it, steam isn't getting to it.  Therefore... the thing to do is to trace back along the main until you find out where it is getting hot.  Then figure out why the steam isn't getting past that point.  A sag?  A partly or fully closed valve?  But something is there...

end of main radiators not heating

is this system 1-pipe or 2-pipe?

when you say you took off the main vent, do you mean the vent on the main, or on one of the radiators?

has the boiler been serviced recently? what is your steam pressure while firing?

could that steam main have lost its support from the ceiling, and now is blocked with condensate pooling in the low spot?--nbc

    might be the radiator valve

I once had the seat of a steam radiator shut off valve break loose from the stem and block the opening of the valve. It was slightly aggrevating.
