Well in my neck of the woods we where hit pretty hard by irene and many are still picking up the pieces .I personally did not get my feet wet but a few of my custermers where .Promblem being a 5 year old buderus i installed was 7 ft under(oil fired)Home owner wants to switch to gas maybe convert the g115 to gas but the only factory approved burner is a riello which around here is not that common(30 years in phvac ony seen about 12 riello oil no gas)and i am kinda worried about getting parts in the future .Bigger promblem is also that most guys will replace a hot water heaters but alot do not replace any of the electronic controls and it makes me look like a thief so alot of jobs i just split on and refused to go help buddies who just turn it on and walk away it ain't my way .I am wondering has any one had any good results using a carlin ez on a g115 or am i better off removing it and conveting it to a standard gas fired .Funny thing local gas company gave them a price i nearly feel over besides being about 30000 btus over what i installed there price was about what i had installed the whole complete heating system with the boiler and panel and all ,quite funny .It just makes me sad to dump a boiler that needs maybe a grand or 2 worth of work to get up and running instaed of converting all because her son in law has a bad taste for oil maybe cause his service company stinks and he buys cash oil from the low baller delivery services so he hates oil.By the way the tank is indoors and was replaced about 6 years ago they originally had a gravity hot air unit with one grate oil fired .Peace and good luck clammy

Most insurance companies and boiler makers

state that any piece of equipment that gets flooded out must be replaced. Period.

With that said, we've converted a G115 with an EZ-Gas and it runs well. Carlin has a model-specific unit with a welded flange- you can call them and get the part number.

    But I'd still replace it.

I agree with Steamhead replace the boiler and it would be a good time to kick it up a notch and go mod/con. You may also look for an alternative location to stay away from future flooding. That is something I am recommending to everyone after our big flood here in RI last year many contractors are moving the heat and hot water out of the basement along with washers and dryers and in some cases putting them into attached garages or in the case of one job they put an addition on and provided a mechanical room on ground level as part of the deal.

Of course in a major flood that floods basement and the whole house it does not matter.
