replacing some old zone valve wiring and installing into a taco zvc-404 zone valve control. this will be a cold start operation. the zvc 404 has two end switches, i have used one to run to a beckett aquasmart control tt terminals to energize the boiler on a call for heat. how do i wire the pump which is a grundfos alpha, to the 404 control so that it energizes on a call for heat?????? please be specific, this would help greatly

thanks

    Or

You can just plug into a receptacle that is always hot. The Alpha will not run as it senses the valves are closed.

Note: This applies to the "auto adapt" mode. If you set it for manual (speed or gpm), then you'll need to interupt power. Unless you have unusual piping or gpm requirements, I'd leave it set to "auto adapt".

    Plug it in

In all seven modes the alpha can be plugged in. The ones i have installed work best when in constant pressure mode.

    ZVC404 wiring

The zvc404 does have two end switches that work in unison with all four zones, and the dry contacts that work exclusively with the priority zone 4.  The dry contact exclusivity is to accommodate a dedicated DHW circulator.  If you're using one end switch to energize the boiler, we can use the extra end switch to energize the system circulator.  to accomplish the suggested wiring you will need to energize the end switch with 120 volts.  You can run a jumper from the hot leg used to power up the control, secondly, you will run one leg of the circulator to the other end switch terminal, and run the pump neutral to the neutral on the control board.  Hopefully this helps
