NBC, ABC, and CBS are all reporting that they actually have his body...

I wonder who will take over his job.

    i forgot to mention....

Thank you to all of the men and women of our armed forces, and special forces and their supporting families who made this possible. Our society owes you unending gratitude for your dedication and services.

Bin Laden may be gone, but the Al Quiada movement is far from dead.

    Remain vigilant...

    Only problem is

there are those who will regard him as a martyr, even though he is known to be responsible for killing a lot of his own people. It's not over yet.

    Who's Next!

Kudos to the guys that went in and greased him. Actually the greatest benefit is the load of intelligence the team was probably able to secure. I imagine not many al Qaeda leaders are sleeping all that well knowing the people that took Bin Laden out now may have Osama's private phone book with their addresses and phone numbers.

  • the bright side is

that if obl was the main financier of alqada, this might have broken its back & its just a matter of time until it disappears. FBI still has a # of wanted terrorists but who's got the cash?

    I hope the spooks are

more efficient for the next one. Ten years and a trillion bucks and the lives of our troops is a heavy price.

    Just another mission accomplished

This was just another step in a long process.  Gathering the intelligence and deciding if and when to go is not an easy process or decision.  Usually small bits of seemingly unrelated information from all kinds of sources has to be evaluated.  Oftentimes it takes months and even years before a picture starts to form.  Although I no longer do this, I spent 18 years in Army Special Forces and another 18 in other Army Special Operation Units.  I'm sure this was a once in a lifetime mission for those Navy Seals.  For the short term and maybe even the long term, only those close to the operation will ever know what really happened.  Can't even tell their grandchildren.  Hopefully the other information collected during the mission will disrupt some of their activities, but they have shown their ability to adapt.  we have to remain vigilant and committed.
