in Gas Heating
I'm in Providence, RI
I have a friend who wants to install a gas boiler. What should be the minimum efficiency percentage(s) (Full load and Low Load) he should require for a new boiler? I have a contractor who wants to install at 80% Full Load efficiency. That seems low to me for a new boiler.

No matter whether in RI
or anywhere else most boilers in the mid efficiency category are going to give between 78% to around 84%. The Burnham ES2 can give about 85% and is not a condensing boiler but can have add ons to increase overall boiler/system efficiency with out getting into the Modulating/Condensing boiler side.0
