at the work site and at home -NO ODORANT - IT YOU DON'T TEST, YOU DON'T KNOW!

Propane recall for Illinois distributor

Propane distributor Aux Sable Liquid Products of Morris, Ill., has recalled 700 rail cars of propane because insufficient levels of the odorant used to detect a leak make the gas potentially volatile material. Tanks were delivered to 14 eastern states between Feb. 25 and Sept. 30. Affected customers can contact Aux Sable to schedule a free inspection and replacement of faulty tanks. United Press International (1/22) <img src="http://cdn.smartbrief.com/images/briefs2/common/sm_share.gif" width="34" height="14" alt="Right-click here to download pictures. Nothing like closing the gate AFTER the cattle are out....

Man, glad I'm not in their shoes.

But you are correct. This IS a good reason to have a personal combustible gas detector on your person.

    We got some of

this same deodorized propane here in New England. In fact I believe there is a law suit pending against Energy USA concerning an incident involving no odorant in propane delivered to customers.

We got all the odorant here

We got all that odorant they didn't put in, here.

The local gas company added extra odorant when they purged a new gas line to the power pant. Sickened people for a 20 mile radius and caused school closings.

Propane without odorant can be very dangerous, bad enough it's heavy and you can be standing in and not smell it.
