sometimes I don't fire

My customer is having trouble with his forced hot water gas boiler. Two years ago he had his automatic damper replaced. The following year he was complaining that the boiler wouldn't fire. So someone replaced the one year old damper again. This year he was complaining of the same thing. So he would unplug the make up air and plug it back in. It would then open the damper and the make up air kicks on the boiler then fire's. I thought it was the aquastat relay. It was working for a while, but the same thing is happening. Any suggestions? Thanks for taking the time to read this. Craig

Vent Dampers
Don't know how old the original was but there was a recall on Effikell Vent Dampers. What is the date code on the damper?

Are you talking about a Vent
Damper or a make up air damper to bring in air for combustion? It sounds like the end switch on the damper is not closing, quick check if the damper is working but not causing the switch to make then jump out the switch if it fires the boiler then the damper will have to be replaced.0
