    There are several

models of Honeywell VisionPro thermostats -- various programming options etc. -- which seem to be popular.  Just make sure that it can be set for 1 cycle per hour (steam/gravity hot water).  Most of them can...

    FocusPro TH6110D1005

I installed one of these before this year. Works great and not as pricey as some of the VisionPro units...

    Cannot connect new thermostat

    High Guys

I just got my visionPRO from pex.....

But I cant seem to be able to wire it correctly...

My old thermostat has three wires coming into it (W, G and Power)

When I TRY using this same configuration on VisionPRO it does not fire the boiler

The instructions only demonstrates heating with a two wire heating system?

I do not know why my system has three wires? could it be a fan control?

    I got a burnham gas-fired steam boiler

    plzhelp

do you have a link to the installer manual?

    posting it may help.

did you trace the wires back to the boiler end? gas or oil? where do the t-stat wires connect boiler end? if you short the two wires (t-stat end) connected to TT terminals (assuming there are any) .. does the system fire?

how did you arrive at the ....

labelling for the wires? Power W and G?i assume you took the values from the old t-stat .. what was the old t-stat Brand/Model .. maybe we can find the manual for that and see what's what ..

    here's the visionPro 8000 installer manual .. http://www.ssihvac.com/PDFdocs/Visionpro%208000%20Tstat.pdf

    OLD thermostat = honeywell rth110B

    Thanks for the quickreplies JPR!!

In your first reply ....I could not answer your questions (to technical!!!)

i got the old values from my original thermostat (ugly dial type) i then purchased a NON programable typ (honeywell RTH110B) I kept the same wiring arrangements

Now, I wanted to upgrade to Honeywell VisionPro 8000

    model# TH8110U1003

If I use the same values...Y, W and R the system does not start

And I cannot seem to follow the instructionmanual because it does not list a heating system with 3 wires!!!!

PS I called Honeywell (they said model TH8110u1003 isfor professional/Contractors only....They cannot help me "the homeowner"

And pexsupply!!!!! a female tried to help but could not even begin to understand me....

Should I eliminate the 3rd wire?? (according to installer manual)

PS, thanx forfinding the manual online

    appreciatte help
