    I have a leak

We got a call one night from a gentlemen saying that he had water leaking from the ceiling and that his bathroom was upstairs. We went out to find the roof of his house in the parking lot next door. Told him we think you need more than a plumber.

    Water leak

Customer. I want you to come locate a leak.

Me. I will come out with leak detection equipment and locate the leak for a fee and then can give you an estimate for repairs.

Customer. Oh My that's expensive but I am not sure I even have a leak.

    Me. ????

    boiler very noisy

a long time ago when I was a kid I used to go on service calls with my dad.

One nite after dinner he got a call that there was a loud noise coming from the garage. ( their boiler was in the garage)

It was about a 1/2 hour drive to get there in the winter and it was snowing preatty hard.

When we got there my dad told me to stay in the truck. I watched him go into the garage and after only a couple of minutes he came out and knocked on the house door.

He then got back into the truck and we left.

The homeowner had left there snowblower running in the garage.

    Leak

We installed a new boiler. About 2 months later the costumer calls, says they have a leak in the basement. Go over and find the water main leaking on the opposite side of the basement. The customer says it's in the basement, it should be covered under the boiler warranty.

    Hot gas

As we were packing up from a water heater or boiler job the customer wanted to feel involved so he grabbed a hold of the gas pipe and said "this ones not hot". We mentioned that if that one was hot we didnt want to be in the house.

    Leaking Baseboard

Last year about this time a customer called stating that the baseboard we installed over the summer was leaking over the garage. There were icicles forming over the garage door when we arrived.

We went inside and checked the baseboard. We found the leak. It was the Christmas tree stand leaking down through the floor. We had a good laugh and wished them a Merry Christmas.

We told this story at a few supply houses. They had a good laugh.

A few days later another plumber called me and said he urgently needed my help.

I said sure- what do you need. He replied "Where can I find a Christmas Tree Stand repair kit ".

You were out here on the same thing last year

No heat... and it is doing the same thing, not running!
