Holiday proposal

I wish that we, as a group, could adopt this young woman and her kids for the holidays. Raise some funds and get one of the local guys to get them some heat.

This just touched my heart.

    Willing to Help

    Dan,

I'm not in her area, but am willing to chip in some $$. How do we proceed?

    Small amount.

I am retired and could contribute only a small amount. But as a Quaker Friend of mine often says, "Do not let the little you can do prevent you from doing the little you can do."

    Check? PayPal? Credit card?

    Thanks for that.

I reached out to a local contractor to see if they could do the work if we could raise the money.

I know we can't save the world, but those kids just got to me.

    Will do.

Thanks. I'm hoping to hear from the local pro. I'll be on the road for the next couple of days but I'll be checking mail.

    That's the spirit!

I don't know if this will go anywhere, but I have to try. No one should be cold in this country.

  • I'm lucky

enough to be in a nice warm house.  Put me down for $100, $150 if you can get 10 more people to donate $100 or more.

    You're the best.

I can't get that out of my head.

How we take for granted a simple thing like heat. Thanks for caring.

I feel fortunate to have heat...

Like Alan, I will kick in if it goes forward. Wish I could do more physically, but that's a bit out of my territory :-)

    It's plenty cold here but...

I'll help as much as I can. If it goes forward let me know.  It's really no surprise to see others on this site say as much, there are a great number of really good people here.

A bit out of most everybody's territory.

Tough spot in America. So many people out of work there. Thanks, pal.

    Is This A Go?

    Hi Dan!

I am a few days late reading about this family.  Were you able to find a local contractor who is willing to do the work?

Christmas should be a time of joy and we can help make this Christmas a bit more joyful for this needy family.  I am all for that!  How do we send you the money?

Thanks for alerting us to this need and taking the bull by the horns about making it happen!

    Be Blessed,

    Clif

    Doesn't look like it.

No response from the pros in the area. Sad, especially at this time of year.

Does she still need help from us?

Video said they have temporary heat, but a new furnace and duct work need paying for. Two heating contractors seem to be providing free labor, but may need help for parts.

    GREAT NEWS

    Dan and Wallies!

Thanks Dan for bringing this to our attention!

Thanks Wallies for wanting to be supportive.  I hope that if you are

able that you will go ahead and send some money to this fund.  Kelly

does promise to take any extra money and pay it forward.  Who knows, if

enough money is sent in, perhaps several families in her neck of the

woods will be helped by our generosity of that of others who hear of her

    plight!

My hat is off to you all!
