low water cut off question

hi,i got a probe type low water cutoff installed.the water level is 1/3 up the glass gauge.the red light keeps blinking on cut off.is this a problem

    Maybe so, maybe no...

    it depends.  What level is the LWCO set at?  If it's set to cut off a third of the way up the glass, and that's where it's cutting off... it's working.  Have you tried putting the water level two thirds of the way up the glass (which is just fine for a cold boiler) and seeing what it does?

    ok.i forgot to mention there was i believe a no67 cutoff(with yellow blowdown valve) on the other side of the boiler which was positioned a bit higher i think.i was just concerned that the flashing red light indicated a problem,thanks for your help.

    The Mc and Miller 67 is probably controlling a water feeder-if it's not working, that would explain why the secondary low water cut-off is tripping. As posted previously though, make sure the water level in the boiler when it's cold is correct. I've run across systems where the customer thought there was a problem with low water, only to find out the water level had been set just above the low water feeder level; once it was raised, there were no more issues.
