Honeywell Sparco tmv

Hello all,
My underfloor heating had a honeywell sparco (AM series) valve fitted by my licenced plumber.
The problem I had was the length of time it took to heat my home. Upwards of six hours and struggled in cold weather.
Has anyone experience with this valve in ufh hydronic systems?
The valve has since been removed and a tekmar/4 way valve fitted which performs superbly. Why did the sparco valve under perform? From what I was told the valve was correctly sized, not faulty and fitted as per the instructions.
