    Got to love it...

Believe me, Owen, there's nothing like being your own boss!

But you are quite right.  How you are going to convince them, I just couldn't tell you.  You might mention that the Empire State Building -- if they've heard of it -- runs on less than 2 pounds...

But I understand about school district budgets.  They are miniscule, and you are lucky if you have enough money for a new broom.  In the meantime, I would suggest that you do what you can about any pitch issues -- that may be cheap or even free.  Neither vents nor traps, unfortunately, are free, although they are a good bit cheaper than the extra fuel you are burning.  Nor is there any point in putting them in until you can get the pressure cranked down and kept that way -- however, given the pressures you are quoting, the chances are excellent that most if not all of the traps are junk, and likewise the vents.  But you know that.

As I say, though, I don't know how you are going to convince your knucklehead collection.  Good luck.  I'd be pretty sure you would save money if you did it right, but unfortunately for convincing the bean counters I wouldn't care to guarantee how much.
