which might be of some value to someone. I hope.
I recently had a lovely new boiler installed -- really nice job and first class workmanship (thanks, Charles!). Runs much better than the old one, which was the same boiler but the old near boiler piping was a bit odd... (not to mention the boiler hadn't been assembled properly and finally developed a neat hole above the water line).
However, I have improved things even further. The system is Hoffman Equipped, and really doesn't like anything over about 7.5 ounces per square inch. That said, vapourstats tend to be a bit twitchy at those low pressures. I put a snubber on the pigtail to the vapourstat and it made quite a difference -- no more tendency for false trips on small pressure surges (which are inevitable). They're cheap. Highly recommended. System is now set at 7.2 ounces cut out, 6.7 ounce differential.
For what it's worth...

i ordered mine yesterday ...
i tried to find one locally .. after talking to the lovely folks in North Carolina (OMS), they directed me to their distributor in Rochester, NY (Tel-Tru) .. they directed me to a place in Brooklyn .. but the place in Brooklyn needed a $50 order min, and wanted me to wait 2 weeks to get the items. I'm not even mentioning their name ..
You can get them from Tel-Tru directly, but gaugestore.com is better equipped and the pricing is within $1 including shipping.
I'm interested to see the difference ..1-pipe Homeowner - Queens, NYC
