Signal Converter

I am working on a project which includes a Burnham Alpine modcon being operated with a tekmar 420 control. The Tekmar 420 allows me to send out a 0-10vdc signal and the Alpine is looking for a 4-20mA input signal to determine operating temperature. Communications with Tekmar tech support suggested a signal converter model number AIM 1 by a company called Advanced Control Technologies, Inc. The boiler owner balked at the cost of this device and asked me to recommend less costly options. Please advise to alternative options that I could recommend to the boiler owner. Thank you in advance for any replies.

Options
You have a lot of options for boilers that are comparable to the burnham that use a 0-10 VDC signal. My favorite is the Lochinvar Knight but the triangle tube is great as well. Lochinvars designs is very close to the Burnham same heat exchanger to. Their customer support is great. All that said I have never had a problem with Burnham they make a great boiler as far as I can see. They just don't have a distributor in my area so I don't see them to often. Look at the Knight its a great machine I use them all the time.0 -
Existing Alpine
Thanks Bill Will for the reply. But the boiler is already present on the project as it is homeowner provided. A signal converter will be used, but the owner was looking for options to the item I mentioned in the original post.0 -
Tekmar 420
Is the tekmar 420 necessary? It's designed to be part of a zoning system, but I believe the controls on the Alpine provide everything else it does.Bob Boan
You can choose to do what you want, but you cannot choose the consequences.0 -
4-20 ma converter
Try B & B Electronics. They have everything to everything converters.
Try this link for a current loop to voltage out converter for around $100.
