Will zone pump stop flow to zone when it's off?

My boiler has circ pumps on each zone and one circ pump on the return. the design has the "closely spaced tees."

Each pump is wired to a relay. The relays are wired to the aquastat on the boiler L8148e.

Problem is that water flows thru the zone pumps even though they are not operating. There are check flow valves after the pumps.

This system is brand new.

Please help.

    Pictures?

Can you post a picture of your system?

    here it is

    this is what was followed.

Other concerns: Is the boilers circ pump (on the return) supposed to run all the time?

How should this be wired with zone pump relays and the L8148e?

    Thanks

    Weighted flow-checks?

Are the flow check valves weighted, i.e. B&G or Taco?  This type is typically made of steel, has three pipe thread tapping(s). Or are they swing check valves (usually brass body and usually installed in the horizontal position)?

An actual photograph might be more helpful.

    Your Diagram

Is correct, but an actual pic. would help clarify things as there are particulars that a diagram may not show.

The boiler pump should not be running continuously and may be part of the problem if the Tees are not spaced properly or if the secondary return is not thermally trapped.

Please provide a wiring diagram also with model of the relays and also the boiler make and model.

I started a new thread in the control section

because I did some checking and it appears that it might be a wiring issue after all. Please see the new thread labeled 'please help' in controls.
