WOW, This is in the U.S., no?

You don't read about many cases in the US being prosecuted compared to the U.K.

    Landlords beware...

Annual testing should be mandatory, even over here in the U.S.

    ME
It's not so much a case of "You got what you paid for", as it is a matter of "You DIDN'T get what you DIDN'T pay for, and you're NOT going to get what you thought you were in the way of comfort". Borrowed from Heatboy.

    I am involved

with a court case right now that looks like it may end up with the prosecution of two non-licensed landlords who installed a heating system which caused a carbon monoxide issue due to incorrect installation. It has been three years in and out of court with numerous appeals and major confusion among lawyers concerning installation practices. I got involved at the request of the judge three months ago. I can't say much more right now.

Things are changing concerning liability in these cases however.
