I'm considering a GB142 ultra efficient gas boiler to replace my 18 yr old Brunham boiler any comments on the Buderus?

An excellent boiler
I've installed several with no problems. The al. heat ex. will need cleaning annually, not difficult at all. Just rinse down the fire side.
The ECR 97gb looks even better, but not sure if they've released it yet. Really a sweet machine. See Ad link at the top of page.Bob Boan

be sure
your water chemistry is spot on, and avoid antifreeze at all costs. The aluminum block is the weak link.
I personally would use a boiler with a stainless steel vessel, for peace of mind, but that's just me.0
