two pressuretrols vs vaporstats

I currently have two pressuretrols wired for my boiler. I assume one is primary, the second is a backup. If I switched a pressuretrol to vaporstat can I leave the backup as a pressuretrol or do they both have to be the same? Two vaporstats are pricey.

you can switch only 1
if it's the case that you have an operation controller p-trol and a backup (manual reset) p-trol .. you only have to switch the operation control...1-pipe Homeowner - Queens, NYC

Will work fine
Second that. When I discovered that my system was a vapor system, I replaced one of two pressuretrols with vaporstat. Has worked like a champ for 10 yrs.
set your cut in and cutout on the pressuretrol a little wider than on your vaporstat; that way the vaporstat runs the show and, in the event of vaporstat failure, your pressuretrol keeps things in check.
Best of luck,
