Rarely done unless thru a steam trap as a drip on a large header. Usually the end of the main vents will get the steam out there if properly sized and working. What size of header are we talking?
I see not reason to vent a residential header if the near boiler piping is done correctly.0 -

That is what I thought, but I decided to ask. My header mock-up is posted in strictly steam if care to have a look at it.
