dresser coupling on wet return?

Rather than figure out how to thread the return at the floor, I'm considering using 2 "dresser universal 90" couplings on a section of my 1-1/4" wet return (for a year or so, until I can repipe and upgrade) ...does anyone have any comments regarding their use? are the "universal type 90" rated for the wet return temps? the dresser website is down so I can't get to the specs right now.
thanks
thanks

You may find you need to go back to a fitting
They may work on a wet return but would it not be better to go back to the next fitting and simply be done with it? They have stainless clamps for temporary repairs of holes. Once you cut out a small piece you may find you need to keep going to get solid pipe.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

thanks charlie ...
i'm a bit hesitant to attempt to "crack" a fitting .. these seem less "invasive"...i understand that i may have to back to a fitting if the pipe isn't solid...as long as there are no significant reservations about them failing due to heat or that dresser coupling are crappy .. but only "it may not work" thoughts due to old pipes, the dresser couplings will be my first option .. i will prepare myself properly if I am lacking solid pipe. i'd guess the wet return is about 10-15yrs old and is currently galvanized I think...i may get lucky .. will report.1-pipe Homeowner - Queens, NYC

pipe threaders are cheapish
Sorry, I can't answer your question, but you can buy a hand pipe threader for less than $100. I bought a chinese one for 1/4-inch to 1-1/4-inch sizes. It's not the greatest quality, but it's still going strong a dozen or so uses later. Anyway, just thought you might have an easier time cutting and threading the existing pipe rather than trying to break loose an old fitting.
These guys have something that may work.
