interior or exterior wall

How important is it to place a radiator on an exterior wall. I've read that that's the preferred location. I have in-wall convectors, and I'd like to move one. I would think that the loss of insulation by placing the convector in an exterior wall would be less efficient.

Am I okay to put it in an interior wall?

    Sure -- why not?

You just have to think why did the old timers put them on the outside walls?  To kill the draught from the cold wall.  Efficiency wasn't so much of a thing in those days, and comfort was.  They're often under windows, too, for exactly the same reason.

But there's no reason not to put one on or in an inside wall.
