System is back on line.  A bit noisy when it first came back on, but now it is quiet again. I went out and got some new vents for the first floor living space, cause I was not sure if the old ones were closing properly.

Is it better to bring things up to desired temperature slowly? Like aim just above current temperature, and raise it again when that target is met?

Anyway, here is what our guy wrote on the invoice:

    Boiler gauge showing 21psi

Impacted boiler gauge. Found it not marking properly, responding to temperature and not showing actual pressure. Recommend to replace gauge. Tested boiler meter pressure with accurate gauge. 0psi.

He is looking for a a gauge that matches the old one, and will call with a price when something is located. I was not home, so I am not sure why an exact match would be needed in his opinion. I am pretty sure it says 0psi, but don't quite know what that means in this context, other than probably not bad.

    Vents

    Those vents

are Dole #4, and are almost certainly too small. Measure the length and

diameter of your steam mains and we can tell you what's needed.

I just saw this. I will do this. Thanks.
