hoffman t54 trap

i have a 4 inch steam main with a vertical riser...it has a drip leg that is 1 foot with a hoffman 1 inch t54 trap at the bottom of that. its a brand new trap. the problem is im sending steam through that trap most of the time...any ideas?

Hmm...
I don't find a model t54 in the current Hoffman catalogue -- maybe someone else will -- but if it's either an F&T or a thermostatic, and steam is getting through it, it isn't working properly. If it's brand new, might try asking whoever installed it to check it.Br. Jamie, osb
