I was given this website by the technical dept at Weil-McLain, the manufacturer of a gas burner I recently had installed in my home.  I have had some trouble with the thermostats regulating the heat and at one time the steam heat zone in my house was 93 degrees!  PSE&G was here today and identified several problems with the installation of the equipment, one being the Hartfood loop being too high.  I am searching for a heating person who specializes in steam systems to correct the installation.  I live in Central New Jersey, the Elizabeth area.  The Weil-McLain contact told me the "good guys" hang out at this website.  Please help.  I can't afford the gas being used to over heat my house.  Thank you.

Go to the top of the page and click on Find A Professional. Put in your zip code and a 30 mile radius. You should find a few to click on and look at.
  • Book on Steam Heating for the Homeowner.

As was mentioned use Find a Professional above. If you don't have a steam pro listed locally to you I'd still give them a call as they maybe able to refer you to someone in your area.

I'd also suggest you might want to get a book offered on this site called " We Got Steam Heat ! "  It's easy reading.(not a technical book) humorous, with lots of pictures and illustrations and written for the homeowner. In an evening or two you'll know a lot more about steam heating. http://www.heatinghelp.com/products/Books/5/61/We-Got-Steam-Heat-A-Homeowners-Guide-to-Peaceful-Coexistence
