Source For Vaporstat ?

I need to purchase a L408J1009 Honeywell Vaporstat for my new gas boiler single pipe steam system.

 

Has anyone had any experience with any of these vendors, either positive or negative ?

Vaporstat

Since a lot of units are replacement for pressuretrols that have broken down, I imagine due to the time factor, that the replacement vaporstat is probably  bought locally so it maybe that very few people are likely to have any experience with the companies you mentioned.

You make a good point. I would have thought that due to the "exotic" :-) nature and cost of the Vaporstat, it would be more something that: pro's who know about it use it often, and experimenters who are less familiar buy it online to try it.

I moved my question to the controls forum with the hope that someone may have purchased something else from one of these vendors and that they could share their (hopefully) positive experience.

I checked the physical addresses of the vendors and one of them is a private house for sale. That gave me pause. I wanted to get some kind of feedback before I typed in a credit card number if you know what I mean.

At the risk

of stating the obvious, why not just get it from your local heating supply folks?  Or one of the major on-line supply houses, like State Supply?

Price and Description.

My local supply houses were priced significantly higher.

State Supply 's part description leads me to believe that they only have the SPST versions of the Vaporstat.

I went ahead and ordered it from the vendor who seemed to be legit and have a good price. I'll know in a few days if I made the right decision. :-)
