Today I was working on an old Liberty Combustion Corp model 150 sc gas type burner. There is a loud blowing noise as the gas burns. I observed the flame for a while and it seems to be burning only where it is suppossed to. Can someone tell me if this is a concern. I once had the same kind of noise on a manifold type gas boiler and the noise was from the flame burning inside the steel manifold tube. What causes it. Thanks. How can I correct it?

I believe that
is a inshot monoport burner, they do tend to roar a little bit when running so that is normal for that type burner. Try reducing the primary air slightly and see if it softens up.0
