How does one support a 30' high stack off a outdoor wood boiler : )

Good grief
well, there is an opportunity for some ingenious engineering, I can see that coming!Br. Jamie, osb

Support it from the base....
and let it grow upward.Just make sure it can shrink freely, as well as grow free, and that all joints are well screwed per the manufacturer or SMACNA, which ever is more stringent.I've had similar sitchumications with PVC going through an existing B vent, and all we could do was anchor it at the base (WELL) and allow i to grow and shrink vertically. If you bind it top and bottom, it WILL make popping noises. Expanding AND contracting.Proceed with caution...METhere was an error rendering this rich post.

chimney support
As a solid fueled appliance, it should vent into a 'chimney'. You can construct a masonry chimney to code or install a factory chimney to the listing and sized according to the appliance listing. Now, the factory chimney listing will have requirements for installation to the listing. In most cases, it will require an extended roof bracket for heights more than 5 ft above the roof penetration. However, for extended heights, it may require construction of a chase with clearanecs to combustibles to provide sufficient rigidity and support not to mention sheltering the chimney from that cold NY breeze.
A 30ft. chimney will result in a higher draft, which will cause the wood to be consumed quicker. The operator will then resort to choking the combustion air down turning it into a creosote factory and chimney fire machine. I recommend the neighbors erect bleachers and sell tickets to the fireworks.
It is well intentioned they do this but it needs to be coupled with some Burn Smart education. Historically, operators of these appliances are not interested in responsible burning but 'free' heat-period. It will be a tough sell to get most to burn smaller, hotter fires using properly seasoned cordwood with a moisture content btw 12-18% on a wet basis. These guys typically will burn anything combustible in there boilers, which is why they have a bad rep. which hurts the few responsible operators.
The HPBA has a task force working on a standard for outdoor wood boilers in cooperation with the EPA. Go to [url=http://www.hpba.org]www.hpba.org and search their gov't affairs section.
