Why is my radiator quiet?

I recently had to replace a couple of radiators on my single pipe system..  I salvaged two units with 2" NPT tappings at the bottoms and bushed them to 1.5" to match my valves.  There's got to be a good sized puddle in the bottom of each rad, but they don't bang or anything.  Why?



Is there a better way to do it than using a reducing bushing?  Even an offset bushing from 2" to 1.5" wouldn't really have room for much of an offset.

Piping is adequate Size.?

Probably because the the pipe size of 1 1/2 is large enough and the steam /condensate velocity is slow enough not to cause a problem. (Of course it maybe that you just don't have monsters in your radiator such as another poster seems to have!

if it ain't broke, don't fix it!  Are they warm?  If so, then not to worry, man!
