If you have limited resources would u keep a Honeywell VS820 millivolt gas valve on truck? I was told these valves rarely go bad.

I recommend that
folks who service gas equipment keep three vlaves on their trucks.
1. A 24 volt 3/4" x 3/4" standing pilot valve (thermocouple) (ex. Honeywell VR8300A)
2. A powerpile 3/4" x 3/4" valve such as Honeywell VS820.
3. A Universal replacement 3/4" x 3/4" Intermittent Pilot/Direct Spark/HSI such as Robertshaw 720-079 or Honeywell VR8345M
So yes I would continue to carry at least one. And yes they are very reliable, mine has been in service for over 20 years.0
