asbestos removal

Looking at replacing an old dry base hot water boiler that is covered in the hand-applied version of asbestos. I need to know how you guys get rid of these things, I prefer to just push them into a corner and not disturb them, but not sure if that if an option on this project. Any suggestions?

The hand applied stuff
is often pretty soft and friable -- which is just the kind of asbestos which really is somewhat hazardous. Unless it is your own private dwelling, and no one else goes near the thing (even guests), I would suggest that you hire a pro to get rid of it. It isn't cheap, but neither is the liability that goes with it.Br. Jamie, osb
