R/A steam trap question
& things are pretty cut & dry going(2 pipe),, however there are 2 rads on the top floor(3floors) of 45 sq.ft each that have the R/A traps installed sideways to drain.
Everything looks original, and these are not special config traps,,, does this sound OK?
The rough-in comes through the plastered wall, so I`ll have to really block-up the rad if it`s a prob.
Any ideas?

Dave

Dave,
what's R/A?Retired and loving it.0 -
I'm thinking .....
right angle.
Should still work that way. I have seen a few installed this way with no apparent issues.

Sorry for my description,
and yes, Jim is correct.
It`s a standard right-angle low-pressure steam trap, but installed on the rad discharging sideways into the through the wall piping.
I`ve already spoken to Frank(Steamhead)Wilsey, and he says it should be OK,, its just not the usual way I see them. ;-)
