Hot water coil in steam boiler - summer use

A friend has a WM SGO-3 with a coil for DHW and no storage tank. Should extra water be added to the boiler for their summer hot water use? Or is the coil completely immersed in water at the normal water line on the watch glass?

    completely immersed at the normal water line. Best not to fiddle with the water line!
