getting away

Ok you have been taking calls all winter. The wife has ate some dinners alone and seen you leave the bed for yet another emergency call. The two of you have had a tough winter and want to get away for a few days, even of its a weekend. Neither of you want to fly. So from 75miles south of Albany NY and 90 miles north of NYC.
Where would you go? My idea is where few children will be, there would be a night life, things to do during the day, and of course plenty of eye candy to check out. Where can I find that? Lets all dream here and list your idea.
C'mon help me out.

Montreal -- about a 4 hour drive, perhaps (although there is a train) and one of the really great cosmopolitan cities of the world. And not as expensive as New York! Of course, I think you need a passport...Br. Jamie, osb

Ah yes a passport. NYC is there an affordable hotel near safe night life?
Do the pocono's have nightly entertainment?
What about lake george or boston?

There are a few new inexpensive hotels in SoHo and Greenwich Village like the Hampton Inn and Sheraton Five Points that are under $200/night.
