Hello
One of the young chaps in the shop asked a question I could not answer{ happens every week} in the old rads were the push nipples cast or steel. I do not know the rads I took out of Eatons thirty years ago appeared to have steel nipples and they were from the beginning of the twentith century. I would like to have some imoformation when you have the time.
Thanks for your help, all the best

Cast Iron Radiators
Cast iron, when polished or ground, will have an appearance not unlike steel, especially if the CI is of a fine grain type.
One sure way to tell: Smack it with a hammer.0 -
Am almost positive that they're steel. I've knocked out many using a screwdriver and they dent--they don't break.0
