-29F not to long ago on the Continental divide near Breckenridge..

-40F something in the "cayons" of Colorado..

If you do not plug in the trucks, good luck starting it next morning!

"better keep the brass monkeys in tonight",, for the next while they`re calling sub-zero temps in my area -10F to -22F. Still not as bad as Weezbo, Darrell & Rocky, but damn that`s cold!

Yes.

In the old Navy days, cannon balls we're stacked on a dimpled brass plate to stop them from rolling. Tis was fastened to the the deck. In extremely cold weather, the brass would contract enough to dislodge the (cannon) balls from the plate. hence the term, cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey
