TRV's for one-pipe steam?

I have Honeywell-Braukmann TRV's on my 1-pipe radiators upstairs, but a couple of them gurgle and spit quite a bit and I have a feeling that some of condensate is getting trapped inside. One of them is also connected to the radiator via a 90-deg elbow because of space constraints (some of those TRV's can be kinda big) and that one makes the most noise.
Should I be looking at a different brand? I know about Danfoss and this one...

Any others I should be thinking about?
Thanks.

TRVS should be the cherry on the proverbial sundae
if steam quality is poor (wet)....these trvs - any any other vents and things will be destroyed in short order. Mad Dog. I never used Honeywell, but I sure they are good quality. We use Tunstall and in the past Danfoss - both excellent. Mad Dog

Listen to Mad Dog
Wet steam will defeat the best valves.
Dittoes on Macon OPSK valves (Tunstall) among others. High quality.0 -
Well, I just had the boiler re-piped (new drop header, equalizer, etc. etc.), and by all indications the steam is now nice and dry.
Perhaps my prior wet steam problems are to blame? Do I need to completely replace the TRV's? Or just the air vents?

Now that
things are nice and dry (good for you on the re-pipe), it may be a time to get new vents (main vents and radiator vents) for a fresh start.
Worst case is that if the TRV's no longer work, you can replace them but I suspect that they will be fine, chances are. So if they are damaged, you replace them and you are done!0 -
One pipe steam TRVs
Do your Honeywell TRVs have a vacuum breaker?

If they do, they're not visible.

If your single-pipe steam TRVs...
...Don't have vacuum breakers, they may not work as well as those types that do.

Gordo is right.
If you do not have a vacuum breaker, having the vent isolated by the valve does not matter- the void will be filled with steam regardless. You will still over-heat.
To a lesser extent, it will not allow condensed steam to flow out of the radiator.
On the Macon OPSK's, the vacuum breaker is a separate device screwed in to the body of the valve. Very simple and effective.0
