It depends... What areas do you drive in? I have extremely aggressive treads with studs on all four wheels. I drive on ice covered backroads and all around crap all winter long. I only get two seasons out of them because of the softer rubber. It is an expense well worth it. I only get stuck when I forget to think before engaging drive mechanism!!!

    Toyo

I had a set of Toyo tires (not sure if they are affiliated with Toyota or not), put on my 1987 Toyota xtra-cab pickup after the original factory set failed inspection. That was at about 45,000 miles.

I kept the Toyo's until the truck died, Christmas Eve 2001 just 40 miles shy of 200,000 miles and the tread still looked sharp, at least enough to pass inspection.

    For snow....

    Bridgestone Blizzak.

The best snow tire I have ever driven on.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

Are those available in load range E? I have used them on an escort in the past and they were wonderful tires.
