boiler flooding
I returned to my new home after 3 weeks away and the basement around the boiler (single pipe steam system) was flooded. The boiler was taking on water and releasing it from a pipe onto the floor of the basement right in front of my eyes. I know that I am supposed to flush water out of the system every week, but I thought this mostly to get rid of mucky water. I also know the boiler has a low-water cutoff. Does it not have a high-water cutoff too? Is it supposed to just keep taking water even if it doesn't need it? Or do I have something broken in my system?0 -
make sure it doesn't start coming out of the first floor vents
