What's this vintage B&G device, please?
Wallies, we've never seen one of these and wonder what it is. Stamped into the top of the round bolted flange is "TRIPLE DUTY FLOW CONTROL BELL & GOSSETT 2". If it were a hydraulic separator, the 2" boiler supply (which connects to the top right of the cylinder) and 2" boiler return (which connects to the bottom of the cylinder) would be pumped (it is not). There is only one circulator which pumps into the assembly at the top of the bolted flange. Thank you! JK0 -
It looks like
a flo-check attached to the top of a side-arm domestic water heater. Maybe when the circ starts it routes some warm water thru the heater?

B & G indirect heater
I looked it up in the 1949 2cd edition of the B & G handbook and it looks like the Indirect heater.If you dont have a copy I can fax you the info0
