Stick with thermostats bought from supply house. They are not of the same quality as the big box stores even though they are both Brand X

Honeywell Vision RTH8500
I Have a Honeywell Vision PRO RTH8500 (Bought at Lowes) thermostat that has stopped responding to touch. I have tried to reset it according to Honeywell by removing the batteries.
I have 4 other Vision Pro 8000(Bought at a Supply House) thermostats with remote sensors and these work fine.
According to Honeywell the 8500 is only carries a 1 year warranty and the 8000 series carries a 5 year warranty.
Anyone try the new White Rogers Big Blue thermostats or the Top Rated Consumer report Lux thermostats?

touch pads
there is a very good reason that touch screen systems only have a one year warranty: the mean time between failure on them isn't a whole lot longer than that. Try to find a thermostat which uses push buttons for control, rather than a touch screen.Br. Jamie, osb
