    Here ya go

I hope you file these under "best" ;-) These are full-size versions of jobs we've posted previously, including a couple of steamers where we tied onto existing "generously-sized" piping to get drier steam.

    Ray

Nice neat Ray install. How do you like him? I noticed you used a Taco circ control due to the fact that the outputs on the Ray cant handle circ current only zone valves?

    a work of art...

waste-oil over wood into wet-base salvage boiler, 2" gravity loop into 200 gallon buffer tank, tankless DHW loop into gutted electric heater, 6 circulators to zones of salvaged cast-iron baseboard. All gone now except for the baseboard....

a work of art I inherited...

homebrew waste-oil over cordwood extended firebox uninsulated wet-base boiler, 2" gravity loop through 200 gallon buffer tank, tankless DHW circulated into gutted electric storage tank, 6 circulator zones into cast iron baseboard, and a chimney you could see through in the attic. All gone now except for that glorious baseboard....

    if its not too late

    Here is a marginal install.
    1. Not enough boiler clearances to combustiles.
    2. Piped directly to slab no mixing or boiler protection.
    3. PRV dumps right into top of boiler and runs down over the vent fan and gas valve.
    4. There is a full 50 gallons of water perched over the boiler supported by a single 2 x 4

    nicer ones

Here are a couple that turned out pretty clean. I like the log background on the one. Too bad I can't get a finished picture, they stuck a whole house vac on one wall and water filtration gizmo on the other one and it blocks my view. I can sympathize now with Marvin the Martian!

  • Who makes that expansion tank? That's pretty slick.

    exp tank

    It is made by Elbi.
I painted the one white to give it the appliance look.
They are nice to install without having to figure out how to support.

Nron, what do you think of the IBC boilers. I saw these a few

years ago when they were first starting and wondered how they would fare. Good, ok, so so. What's your opinsion. Thanks in advance, Tim
