    I saw Alan again today, He is doing better. His system seems to be responding to the antibiotics. He is however...getting hungry! he has had NOTHING in him but an IV since Sunday.If you know Alan, then you know how Hard that is! However it is for his own good. As of now he will be in the hospital for about a week then home for another three weeks before they can operate and fix him. He wants to thank EVERYONE who has sent him well wishes and prayers. And Mad Dog for the plant. He told me to tell you that he will personally thank you soon himself. right now, it's a little tough. I will be stopping in to see him again tomorrow afternoon.Believe it or not he seemed a little surprised at the tremendous outpouring of caring and support. (always the humble one)The nurses are shocked that the phone calls are coming in from all over the country! and they ARE giving the messages to him.(keep 'em coming it really does put a smile on his face.)     I'm sure they will be something we can do to help at some point.I'm just not sure what right now.I'm going to stop and see him over the weekend and will get a better feel then.Thanks for the support!

    Good news for Alan!

    I just saw him and he is doing VERY WELL (considering what he has to go through). He is now on a liquid diet.(NO NOT BEER!) There is a small chance that he will be going home this weekend to convalesce for a few weeks before the surgery.
    I printed this thread for him to read so he is getting all your good wishes. keep 'em coming. Lets see how many "FRIENDS IN THE INDUSTRY" he has

    and he sounds very much like himself and says he is doing much better. Being Alan the last thing he said was to tell my mother that he loved all 95 years of her. Always thinking of someone else. Great to hear him sound so much like himself. Ruthe

    Alan has had a small setback and won't be going home for a few more days. Is a bit discouraged. Say a few more prayers and good thoughts for him. Ruthe

    Alan had a setback today.

    stopped in to see him today. It seems he developed an absess in his abdomen. he is back on the IV antibiotics and in ALOT MORE pain. They are giving him morphine and percocet to help with that. As you can probably Imagine, he just a little groggy and bummed out. PLEASE Keep him in your prayers.

    Alan Has left the building! (hospital)

    Our friend Alan has left the hospital to relax in his humble abode. In a couple of weeks he'll be back in for the surgery.
    Keep the prayers coming they do work it seems!

    Hey Judy ,I'm shocked to hear of our good friend Alans condition. I was wondering if a Blood Drive or such would assist him in anyway or even the association. I know with my Volunteer Fire Dept. As a member, if so many donate it covers the entire company and family. How about NAOHSM doing a simular program. Give now for Alan and others.
    As you know Alan and I started and strive to bridge the gap between the chimney sweeps and oil service companies back in 2000. He was the best Key-note speaker, jokes and all! He is a dear friend to both associations. If I can help with anything just ask. He and Toni are both on my prayer card for Sunday.
