i series mixing valve
Greg,
Like anything else, installed correctly in the right application these are grat valves at a great value.
So far I have not had one fail. Of course they have only been out for 5 years, but no failures.

i series mixing valve
does any one have any experienc with Taco's i-series mixing valves.... what might be the life span of the product and does it work well.. what about sizing for flow rates?0 -
I disagree with Steve
I don't think they are grat.
I DO THINK they are great and you alot of them. I don't belive we have had any problems other than "installer error". Make sure you have the ports aligned with the valve head and we don't like to use the boiler sensor. We just feel it works better with out it.
I do think Steve is Grat !!

Rob,
They DO make a bit of noise when the call for heat comes after a setback...as they "hunt" to adjust the wanted temp. .Once the return water comes up to that magic Delta T...they calm right down and are quite amazing.
Biggest thing is just what Scott said. Proper orientation on the body,( wire connections over the inlet /high temp. water), and also make sure the dip switches make the valve do what you need it to.(See: read the instructions) Chris0 -
iValve...
Greg --
Email me your contact information and I can help you out with any specific questions you may have regarding sizing, programming, etc. As the others have said, the iValve is a pretty versatile little device. And Wheels is beyond Grat. He's absolutely Cugat!

Good Morning
Your inquiry about the I-series can be best answered with knowledge about the product. Taco has some great informational resources available at Taco-havc.com. Look up the radiant made easy application guide for a product overview, and why one product might be better then another in different applications. For your reference I attached the guides for the reset, and set point I-valves. These valves are a great tool for tempering water based on either outside temperature, or a specific set point temperature. As for the noise issue; the valves are a ball valve type valve which continuously modulates so the system water requirements are satisfied. You might hear the small electric motor turning on and off when the valve orifice needs adjusting, but nothing that would be considered unreasonable.

Have use numerous 3-way I-valves
and now am using using several of the 4-way valves. Have had the I-valves in for over 4 years and not one lick of problems. I feel they solve a lot of otherwise expensive problems.
